The State of Utah – Road Safety Advocacy
The State of Utah has shown outstanding leadership being the first U.S.state:
- To pass lifesaving .05 BAC legislation despite active opposition from well-funded opposition.
- To design and implement an innovative management tool-UPlan that provides real time information built on a common GPS data base that enables unique, robust safety management and fosters unprecedented collaboration among stakeholders.
- To adopt US RAP star rating and safety investment protocols and integrate it fully into the state’s road upgrading system.
