North-West Partnership – ENGAGE
The ENGAGE programme aims to improve a driving instructor’s ability to assist a learner driver to recognise, understand the danger of and develop coping strategies for a number of factors associated with the crash involvement of young drivers.
The instructor training is 3 hours in duration covering:
- the Goals for Driver Education
- basic coaching techniques.
The learner driver resources are in the form of worksheets and e-learning and consist of 8 modules delivered through a combination of 8 micro lessons and 4 e-learning modules.
The focus of the scheme is for the novice driver to consider future potentially dangerous scenarios and develop appropriate coping strategies.
