Lucky Day Productions – Driving Academy
Driving Academy is a unique demonstration of the positive impact television can have on children. The ten-part-series created and produced by Lucky Day Productions was broadcast on CBBC, BBC1 and BBC2. It promotes road safety and passenger awareness to 7-13 year olds and their parents.
It was an undoubted success one episode being the highest rated children’s factual show broadcast in the whole of 2011 – to put this in context it rated higher than Horrible Histories.
In this ten-part series four CBBC viewers, who are concerned about their parent’s poor driving, nominate their father or mother to be rehabilitated at the fictional CBBC ‘Driving Academy’ over a two week period.
Under expert eyes the parent and child learn together how to be safe road users.
