SQA-DSA
The first of its kind in the UK, the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Safe Road User Award (SRUA); developed and awarded jointly with the Driving Standards Agency (DSA), is designed to build road sense among young people, focusing on positive attitudes and behaviours that will provide a life skill to prepare them better for using the roads.
The SQA-DSA joint partnership, forged in June 2008, will lead to a new educational qualification aimed at improving road sense among young people.
The key aim of the course is that students learn to understand the impact that other roads users have on them and the impact that they may have on other road users.
