In addition to a thorough top-down road safety management policy throughout the group, individual businesses also take innovative approaches to managing drivers, Balfour Beatty Plant and Fleet Services uses a Driver Risk Index developed in conjunction with Cranfield University and a bespoke Driver Risk Management programme, which uses e-learning development training and simulator assessment.

Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions uses RiskMaster supplied by The Fleet Support Group,  which has helped to achieve a risk reduction of 60% and accident reduction of 40%.
