The Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre, Thatcham
Thatcham’s mission is to ensure that "globally, vehicles are repaired safely, crash injuries are minimized and vehicle theft is eradicated.” Thatcham is famous for its research into whiplash - the most common injury in car crashes, with 250,000 cases every year.
Thatcham also works to increase public awareness of vehicle safety systems by establishing league tables of safety features and is a fully active partner in Euro NCAP and the Choose ESC campaign.
