This innovative crossings trial is designed to address the critical issue of high adult pedestrian casualties in Liverpool.

Research unveiled that 22% of pedestrian collisions occurred near crossings. This informed the creation of interventions to refactor the environment to make safe behaviours easy by default.

Analysis of results demonstrated a significant 14% increase in crossing usage at one test site. Supported by the UK Road Safety Trust, this private-public collaboration delivered this strategic, creative solution, backed by rigorous research and real-world trials.
