The King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (Automotive Safety and Assessment Engineering Research Centre)

Vehicle Safety, 2021

Automotive Safety and Assessment Research Centre was established under The International Sirindhorn Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering of King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) in 2005 to focus on vehicle safety aspects. Among its areas of research include integrated vehicle safety systems. These encompass active safety (accident warning & avoidance including recognition judgment, brake assist AEC/ABS), pre-collision safety (damage mitigation including evasive action, pre-crash system, pre-crash brake assistant AEB), passive safety (passenger protection including injury mechanism, crashworthiness structure, pedestrian mitigation system), and rescue (including emergency response).

The objectives of ASAE-RC are to create knowledge of vehicle fundamentals and manufacturing process, vehicle and part assessment, vehicle standard and regulation, and crash and human body simulation through lectures, workshops, accident reconstruction, etc. Over the span of 15 years, The Center has successfully brought a positive impact on automotive field test and vehicle regulation in Thailand and across Southeast Asia.
