World Resources Institute – Road Safety Programme
This Road Safety Programme works to make cities safer by design. WRI’s research shows that prioritizing development is linked to positive safety outcomes.
The approach helps cities to:
- Avoid increase motorized travel which has been shown to be associated with higher fatality rates through land use and transport planning.
- Shift to safer modes of travel such as public and non-motorised transport.
- Improve existing mobility systems and infrastructure to maximise safety.
