This nomination is an innovative approach to managing road safety at the Poole Quay Bike Night gatherings by the partnership between Dorset Police, Poole Council, tourism staff and volunteer marshals. The new formal policing and management model has seen a reduction in incidents both at the event and on the surrounding roads. Engagement with the riders has been the key to its success and the partners are now seen as the guardians of the event.
