Village 30 Hampshire

Enforcement, 2010

A campaign called Choose 30 was launched to compliment the Village 30 programme and raise public awareness of the new speed limits whilst encouraging them to respect and moderate their speed accordingly.

Targeted enforcement is used in villages where drivers deliberately flout the new limits, resourced by the Safer Roads Partnership.

The programme differs from more common and isolated speed changes; Village 30 is not based purely on casualty statistics, but uses a combination of engineering, publicity and enforcement initiatives which are proven to be successful in casualty reduction programmes.
