Volvo – 50 Years of the Seatbelt
This is a special award to Volvo Cars in recognition of the company’s vision to design cars that should not crash and to also mark the 50th Anniversary of the invention of the three-point safety belt. It is estimated the three point safety belt has saved over 1 million lives since it was first introduced to the car in 1959.
