Missing Matthew, Lancashire Partnership for Road Safety
A highly successful campaign run in colleges, universities, 6th form schools, regional TV, local and regional radio, and newspapers, tackling reckless behaviour amongst vulnerable young drivers.
Missing Matthew, is a true story about the death of Blackburn lad, Matthew Hannon (22), who lost his life yards from his parents’ home racing his best mate. Ann, his mother, featured in a poster campaign in colleges that caught the attention of the regions’ media, culminating in the Lancashire Telegraph’s high profile campaign.
‘Missing Matthew’ has given 16-24 year olds across Lancashire a wake up call helping them to realize the consequences of making the wrong decision. The campaign has helped to induce safer and more responsible driving among young drivers ultimately saving lives.
