IHT Collision Prevention and Reduction Guidelines
For many years The Institution of Highways and Transportation has set, and promoted, the highest professional standards of collision reduction and prevention in a public service setting.
This year IHT issued new Collision Prevention & Reduction guidelines that demonstrate how an effective, inclusive management system weaved into an authorities policy can deliver results. The Guidelines have been built around a framework of five elements: data, structure, systems, finance and monitoring. The thrust of the Guidelines is to show that these five elements are interlinked.
The Guidelines offer a way to deliver effective road safety management and weave the process into the ever complex world of Local Authority politics.
