Lancashire County Council – Pre Pass Support Scheme
Private practice alongside professional instruction is the most effective way for learner drivers to gain experience.
The TRL led novice drivers cohort study shows the need for learners to receive more hours practice with structured and effective sessions that are in line with their professional tuition. Now Lancashire County Council?s Road Safety Group has implemented this scheme aimed at drivers (usually parents and relatives) who accompany Learner drivers on extra practice sessions. The scheme is based on a course but as the course alone fails to reach many potential accompanying drivers a CD-ROM was developed.
