Mercedes?Benz Pre-Safe
In two-thirds of accidents the actual impact is preceded by a detectable event, such as braking or skidding, which can last for several seconds. The answer is Pre-Safe installed in the Mercedes- Benz S-Class. This innovative system provides automatic extra-preventative tensioning of the front seat belts and the return of the passenger seats to a safer position during an emergency braking or skid. Also if the sensors detect the risk of rolling they will automatically close the sunroof; this way undesired occupant movement is restricted, and occupants will be in a safer position should a collision occur.
The S-Class Saloon also has: Anti-lock Braking (ABS), Brake Assist (BAS), Acceleration Skid Control (ASR) and the Electronic Stability Programme (ESP).
