Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards have been presented under the category Safer Road Users.

Fundación MAPFRE
From 1996, Road Safety Education has been one of the main focus areas of the Madrid -based Fundación MAPFRE.
It supports many programmes across the world and has for the past 10 years, used IT powered systems to train over 2.8 million children and 100,000 teachers and has invested 96 million euros in 23 countries. It has worked with international and local institutions to introduce multimedia and interactive teaching material to prevent unintentional injuries.
The Children’s Traffic Club (CTC) London – Road danger and active travel education
For families in London this is a free programme covering road danger and active travel education for pre-school children and their families. Fully funded by Transport for London it supports the Vision Zero commitment to eliminate KSIs on London's roads by 2041.
This bespoke version which caters for many ethnically diverse communities is based on the principles of the existing national CTC Programme , the UK’ s most researched, monitored and evaluated children’s road safety education programme. Using both print and digital media it now reaches 85% of all pre-school children in London.
Queensland Police Citizens Youth Welfare Association and the Motor Accident Insurance Commission – Braking the Cycle
A partnership between Queensland Police Citizens Youth Welfare Association and the Motor Accident Insurance Commission has delivered “Braking the Cycle,’' a Learner Driver Mentor Program, which aims to provide disadvantaged youth an opportunity to obtain a driving licence.
It has also reduced crashes and unlicensed driving involving young people.
